With the task of one of the bottom teams in their group, England delivered with a performance which was expected by most. Lead by Wayne Rooney and Jermain Defoe who scored two goals each, England won in convincing fashion in a 6-0 rout of Andorra. With the win England now finds itself only one win away from locking in a slot in next year’s World Cup in South Africa. The Europe powerhouse was just too much for Andorra as the scoreboard was already 3-0 at halftime, with two coming from Rooney. In the second half, England scored three more, with substitute Jermain Defoe pouring in two consecutive goals in the 73rd and 75th minute and Peter Crouch kicking in goal number 6 to put icing on the cake. With this, England looks to solidify its place in South Africa in hopes of advancing further than they did in the 2006 World Cup.
