Stanley Cup Finals: Game 7 it is!

As the final whistle blew, the fans cheered as they know that at least for this year, for this game, for this series, they have escaped history. The Pittsburgh Penguins avoided a repeat of their Game 6 loss to the Detroit Red Wings to preserve their chance of winning the Stanley Cup and to force the series to a deciding seventh game. In last year's Stanley Cup, the exact same situation happened, except that Detroit won the sixth game which lead them to the cup. This time around, the Penguins are hanging around, and the winner of this year's holy grail will be known on Friday, June 12 as the Red Wings will battle the Penguins for the title. The home-ice advantage was preserved throughout this year's series, with the home team winning the game in the past six games. The Penguins were fueled by Jordan Staal and Tyler Kennedy who put up a huge performance, putting them ahead 2-0 and never looked back. The Wings took one back with the goal from Kris Draper but the Penguins were just too determined and focused to preserve the win. Game 7 will be on Friday, June 12, where everything will end. One team will be in despair while the other will be in triumph. Who will emerge victorious?
